Urban Dictionary defines positivity as the ability to stay “…. positive even when you find a really good reason to be negative.”. We’ve all been positive and we’ve all been negative. One is way more enjoyable to be around. While in the presence of a positive person, we somehow feel uplifted, rejuvenated and refreshed.
Positive people tend to be forward thinking and solution oriented. In a meeting, this is the person who somehow makes an overwhelming task seem doable. At a party, we may walk away from the conversation with them feeling as if we really do have a handle on our personal relationships and that we can turn our hobby into a profitable business!
Positivity is contagious. When it is genuine, it is a characteristic that most of us want to emulate. Two things we can all do today to bring more positivity into our lives is to one, smile at others and two, change the way we view life’s challenges. Today, if presented with a challenge, try to immediately seek out the opportunity within that challenge. Make it a game of sorts.
Every challenge provides us an opportunity to learn, to grow and to be a better person. #betterandbetter. Today, if you are presented with a challenge, instead of reacting, try responding calmly and with gratitude. Often the joys of life are often buried within a challenge.
With every smile, you will find it increasingly easier to communicate with others. You will become more approachable. With every new opportunity to learn and grow, you will experience greater ease in problem solving and be able to check tasks off of your list more readily. Life will become easier to navigate and more enjoyable.Lastly, many of us may not feel as positive as we wish. There is a difference between not being as positive as you’d like to be and experiencing clinical depression.
